Description
Smooth purl is a goldwork wire made of a hollow tightly coiled wire with a shiny surface. Fairly stiff and less flexible than other purls. Springy, and delicate to use.
Smooth purl is used by cutting into small pieces and then stitched down in the same way you would a bead, by applying a waxed sewing thread through the centre of the coil. Useful to work smooth purl with other purls to give a good tonal contrast.
The higher the number the finer the thread.
This item is sold in 1 metre lengths.
