Description
Smooth passing thread is a flexible, round, fine thread, and one of the only threads which can be worked through the fabric. It is made of a cotton core twisted in one direction, and wrapped with a narrow strip of metal plate in the opposite direction, creating a strong, durable thread that doesn’t twist. Similar to Japanese thread, and more robust, however more wiry to the touch. Good for fine work. Straight and smooth in appearance, it can be shaped easily into corners with the use of fine tipped tweezers. Usually couched down singularly with a thread of similar or contrasting colour.
This item is sold in 1 metre lengths.
