Description
Pearl Purl is made from hard wire, coiled tightly to form a firm hollow spring, creating the appearance of a small string of beads. Shiny, strong and flexible, able to be shaped into corners using fine tweezers. Often used for defining outlines and is couched in place using a waxed sewing thread. Requires to be pulled open, enabling the thread to slip between the coils at 3-4mm intervals. Pulling it too much makes it less flexible and more rigid.
Varies in sizes, the higher the number the larger the purl.
