Flatworm is a rounded thread, made of a metal strip wound around a core yarn, and lightly flattened. The thread has a spongy feel and is flexible to use. Ensure threads lay flat against the fabric as they have a tendency to twist. Flatworm threads are couched down using a waxed thread of similar or contrasting colour. The ends of the thread need to be plunged through the fabric, as they will easily fray.
Flatworm comes in various sizes, from Super (very fine) to No.6 (largest).
