Au Ver a Soie (pronounced Oh-Var-Uh-Swah).
Soie D’Alger is a 7 ply stranded silk that is manufactured in France. It is loosely plied and can be split easily.
It is made of the best quality spun silk giving it an unrivalled regularity, lustre and softness. It does not snarl in the needle and has good tensile strength, and resists very well to abrasion.
This thread can be used for tapestries, embroideries, cross stitch, needlepoint, Hardanger, lace making, blackwork, stumpwork, smocking, quilting, and crewel work, as well as weaving, and large topstitching machine embroidery.
Unfortunately, there is no colour chart available for Au Ver a Soie threads.
